A mysterious legend among graffiti artists, ICHABOD has been dubbed #ICHABODtheRailGod on social media”– no small feat considering that the artist maintains no social media accounts.

He is a classic and highly prolific New England-style writer and is the most prominent member of the YME and Circle T crews. Bubble-letter throwies like this tend to be quicker and less elaborate than pieces with straight lines that require a more methodical approach.

Despite the fact that throwies require less technique, they can still be well-executed as this one is. The relative sizing of each letter and their proportions to one another are near perfect. Note that the dot over the “i” and in the period are sized almost exactly the same, punctuating each end of the composition at the top left and bottom right.

When the artist goes simple, it’s often a simple oil bar moniker. Therefore, the legendary writer must have been in a hurry, having already hit the opposing side of the car with a full multi-color piece.
